With so many letting agents in Aberystwyth, what sets us apart here at Redfern Property? One of our main aims in the business is to ensure that we’re always at the forefront of using technology and making renting (for landlords and tenants) as easy and hassle free as possible. In the past two years we’ve joined forces with some great companies across the UK to help offer a more inclusive package for our tenants and landlords.We are constantly looked at ways to improve and streamline the running of our business using modern methods.

We now process our applications online and online only! No more appointments for groups to sign tenancy agreements on paper, or apply for the property using paper forms. Although we’ve always offered a means of applying online, by joining forces with Goodlord we can now offer a very modern method of applying. The application can be done from your mobile, it’s easy and fast. Goodlord also run the full reference checks we require too, meaning everything now comes under one umbrella.

Another bonus point for Goodlord is that we’re also able to have tenancy agreements signed digitally by our landlords!


We work with Endsleigh to offer ALL of our students contents insurance within their application. This means every student that signs a tenancy agreement with us will automatically get contents insurance worth up to £2000, and laptop insurance for £1000. Not only does the insurance cover the contents in the house, but also travelling from home to University.


Glide are how we can easily offer inclusive bills within the rent. We currently have roughly 45% of our student houses set up on Glide for gas/electricity and water. At the beginning of a tenancy we upload the meter readings. Glide visit every quarter and take more meter readings which are also uploaded. Each property has a link which we can send to tenants and landlords for up to date information on the utility usage. We know that landlords worry about being out of pocket, so we’ve got a fair usage policy in all of our student tenancy agreements. The great thing about Glide is that the fair usage is built into their system, and you can monitor after each meter readings whether or not the house is over or under that usage.


We’ve worked with LetMC since opening as a business, and it’s a great system for our properties. What’s even better though is that each and every one of our landlords can also login – checking rents, payment statements and more.


2017 and we joined forces with Fixflo, an online maintenance system which offers a huge range of options for our tenants to log and report issues. We can access it from any device, and we can even upload handy and helpful videos for tenants to watch too. We’re really excited to expand on this section of the business in the coming year.
